Basketball Recap: Azavier Robinson Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Plainfield

There's no place like home for Lawrence North, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They walked away with a 70-61 victory over the Plainfield Quakers on Tuesday. The score was all tied up 36-36 at the break, but the Wildcats were the better team in the second half.

Lawrence North's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Azavier Robinson, who went 10 of 17 en route to 26 points along with six rebounds and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Kai McGrew, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 boards.

Lawrence North smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Plainfield only pulled down ten offensive boards.

Plainfield lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Harper Baker-Lands, who went 7 for 17 on his way to 20 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Colton East, who went 8 of 10 en route to 16 points.

Lawrence North pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Plainfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Lawrence North Wildcats challenge the North Central Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Plainfield, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mooresville at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Mooresville's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests.
