Belleville West has gone 9-1 against Granite City recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Belleville West Maroons will welcome the Granite City Warriors at 7:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Belleville West is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 62 points on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Alton on Thursday. They were beaten by the Redbirds 68-15. The defeat continues a trend for the Maroons in their matchups with the Redbirds: they've now lost nine in a row.

Meanwhile, Granite City had to suffer through a 60-30 loss at the hands of Edwardsville. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 412th, while the Tigers are ranked 44th).

Belleville West's loss dropped their record down to 7-18. As for Granite City, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-17 record this season.

Belleville West skirted past Granite City 39-37 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Will Belleville West repeat their success, or does Granite City have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
