Basketball Recap: Rudder Comes Up Short

Rudder was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They lost 68-44 to the Caney Creek Panthers. The Rangers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2016.

Despite the loss, Rudder still got an impressive performance from Rodrigo Salazar Gold, who went 6-for-8 to rack up 16 points. Another player making a difference was Joel Miller, who posted eight points.

Rudder's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Caney Creek, their win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-5.

Coming up, Rudder will head out on the road to challenge Salado at 6:30 p.m. on December 2. As for Caney Creek, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Dekaney at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
