North Schuylkill has gone 9-1 against Tamaqua recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Spartans will be playing at home against the Blue Raiders at 4:30 p.m.

Saturday just wasn't the day for North Schuylkill's offense. They came up short against Mount Carmel on Saturday, falling 10-0. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, Tamaqua entered their tilt with Pottsville on Thursday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They skirted past the Crimson Tide 3-1. Three seems to be a good number for the Blue Raiders as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Mason Ligenza was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Ligenza wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Ansbach, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases. Ansbach has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

North Schuylkill's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Tamaqua, their win bumped their record up to 12-1.

North Schuylkill was able to grind out a solid victory over Tamaqua in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 8-5. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Blue Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
