Recap: Twin Lakes Indians vs. Tri-County Cavaliers
The Twin Lakes Indians waltzed into Saturday's match with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 70-59 victory over Tri-County. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Leading Twin Lakes to victory were Olivia Nickerson and Addie Bowsman. Nickerson scored 26 points along with 3 steals, while Bowsman almost dropped a triple-double on 32 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Nickerson has scored at least 25% of Twin Lakes' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasmine West, who scored 8 points.
When it comes to explaining why Tri-County lost, one person who can't be blamed is Sara Zarse. Despite the final result, she scored 21 points along with 6 rebounds. Zarse is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Evalynn Ross, who scored 6 points along with 5 rebounds.
Twin Lakes' victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Tri-County, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Twin Lakes will challenge Rensselaer Central at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Rensselaer Central is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Tri-County, they will head out on the road to face off against North White at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North White comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
