Basketball Recap: Mount De Sales Academy's Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak at Home

Mount de Sales Academy entered their game against First Presbyterian Day on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Mount de Sales Academy Cavaliers took a 46-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of the First Presbyterian Day Vikings. The Cavaliers lost against the Vikings in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 61-25 score last time.

Several Cavaliers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Payton Latimer, who posted four points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenzie Jordan, who earned seven points and seven rebounds.

Even though they lost, Mount de Sales Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in six consecutive matchups.

Mount de Sales Academy's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-6. As for First Presbyterian Day, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-5.

Mount de Sales Academy will challenge Piedmont Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for First Presbyterian Day, they will square off against Stratford Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
