Recap: Towers Titans vs. Columbia Eagles
The Towers Titans lost against the Columbia Eagles back in November of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Towers was dealt a 33-6 defeat at the hands of Columbia. Towers has struggled against Columbia recently, as their game on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Columbia's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lamaze Williams, who rushed for 131 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries. Another player making a difference was Cameron Graves, who rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown on only five carries.
Towers' loss was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), which bumped their record down to 1-9. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 9.8 points per game. As for Columbia, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-3.
Towers does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Columbia will be playing in front of their home fans against Athens Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Athens Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
