Softball Recap: Wheatland Picks Up Tenth Consecutive Victory

Wheatland extended their winning streak to ten on Monday, bumping their season record up to 14-4 in the process. Everything went their way against the Marysville Indians as they made off with a 17-4 victory. The result was nothing new for the Pirates, who have now won 12 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Wheatland got a massive performance out of Raelynn Hulsey, who went 2-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave Hulsey a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Logan, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

As for Marysville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 13 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season. They just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row.

On Marysville's side, Janis Sutton was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Sutton has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

Wheatland will have a chance to go back-to-back against Marysville: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
