Baseball Recap: National Trail's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

The matchup between National Trail and Fairlawn on Tuesday hardly resembled the 3-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Blazers walked away with an 11-8 win over the Jets. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Blazers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Cooper Smith, who went 2-for-3 with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for National Trail: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-13 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Laubenstein, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

National Trail's win bumped their record up to 6-13. As for Fairlawn, they dropped their record down to 3-17 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road.
