Softball Game Preview: Gallatin County Wildcats vs. Owen County Rebels

Gallatin County hasn't had much luck against Owen County recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Wildcats will venture away from home to square off against the Rebels at 5:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Wildcats on Thursday. Gallatin County lost 9-0 to Henry County. Gallatin County has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Owen County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 11-8 to Trimble County.

Abigayle Dempsey was cooking despite her team's loss, firing off two home runs and six RBI while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

Owen County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Gallatin County, their loss dropped their record down to 13-12.

Gallatin County took their victory against Owen County in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 10-4 score. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rebels turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
