Softball Recap: Dover Comes Up Short

Dover's last matchup with Mansfield could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Monday. The Pirates lost 7-1 to the Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Pirates of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2019.

Dover's defeat dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Mansfield, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

Dover will square off against Baptist Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Pirates surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mansfield, they will challenge Paris at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
