Football Recap: Perry Piles Up the Points Against Lutheran West

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Perry). They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 41-6 win over the Lutheran West Longhorns. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Longhorns are ranked 433rd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory made it two in a row for Perry and bumps their season record up to 4-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.0 points over those games. As for Lutheran West, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Coming up, Perry will venture away from home to challenge Orange at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pirates will be up against the Lions' rather soft defense (which has allowed 44.5 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Lutheran West, they will welcome Hawken at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Longhorns will need to watch out since the Hawks have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
