Wellsboro has gone 10-0 against Sayre recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Wellsboro Hornets will look to defend their home court against the Sayre Redskins at 7:15 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Last Friday, Wellsboro lost to Loyalsock Township at home by a 46-29 margin.

Meanwhile, Sayre was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 46-42 to Towanda. The loss was the Redskins' first of the season.

Wellsboro will need focus on slowing down Hudson Trump, one of several Sayre players who made an impact when they last played. He almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine boards. Trump is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ryan Ressler, who posted six points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals.

Wellsboro was able to grind out a solid win over Sayre when the teams last played back in December of 2023, winning 55-42. Will Wellsboro repeat their success, or does Sayre have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
