Volleyball Recap: Clearwater Central Catholic Takes a Tough Playoff Loss + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Clearwater Central Catholic can now relate to. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Indian Rocks Christian Eagles on Wednesday. The Marauders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Despite the loss, Clearwater Central Catholic saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Megan Christian had 30 digs and two assists. With that strong performance, Christian is now averaging an impressive 10.7 digs per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Garrett, who had 12 digs and one assist.

Indian Rocks Christian found their leader in freshman Tesa Johnson, who had 26 digs and five assists. Those 26 digs set a new season-high mark for Johnson.

Clearwater Central Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 14-13. As for Indian Rocks Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season.

Clearwater Central Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Indian Rocks Christian, they will challenge Northside Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
