In this week's power rankings, we saw one team go soaring up and another team come crashing down, along with everything in between. A special shoutout goes to Westerly's senior Tristan Turano, who scored five total touchdowns in the team's most recent match.
Can't Touch This
Westerly got a 61 - 0 win over Stonington last week, and a key reason for the win was senior Tristan Turano. Turano ran for 250 yards and also punched in five touchdowns. That performance landed Turano among the top power-ranked players for the week.
No Stoppin 'Em
74. That was the combined point total for Cranston East and Cranston West when they went head to head last week, and it set the benchmark for all power ranking teams. Cranston West breezed past Cranston East with a final score of 53 - 21. Cranston West found its leader in an underclassman: Brennan Stetson rushed for 192 yards and three touchdowns, which was enough to make him one of the team's best players.
Look Out Below
After a challenging last week, Central Falls now finds itself down four power ranking positions. No one has a better right to be disappointed since that was the biggest drop of the week. It has to be hurting after a devastating 28 - 6 defeat at the hands of Lincoln. The team got a solid performance out of senior Jordan Alvarado (he earned one touchdown and 70 yards rushing the ball); unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the win.
Can't Stop Won't Stop
It was another outing, another victory last week for the team with the longest stretch of success (nine consecutive games). North Kingstown got a somewhat close 29 - 22 victory over South Kingstown. Despite the outcome, neither team improved or gave up its position in the power rankings.
