Granger is 1-9 against Thorndale since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Lions will look to defend their home field against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Friday, Granger got the win against Bartlett by a conclusive 18-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.
Arianna Herrera was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and two doubles. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Marissa Hall was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Abi Crouch, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
Granger was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .548. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in eight consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Thorndale waltzed into their game on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Cougars a 13-0 shutout. Give the Bulldogs' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.
The team relied heavily on Aubrey Tibbitts, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That stolen base marked the first that she snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Brook Amidon, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
Thorndale pushed their record up to 10-3 with the win, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Granger, they now have a winning record of 8-7-1.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Granger hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .422. However, it's not like Thorndale struggles in that department as they've averaged .452. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
