While Sunrise Mountain has struggled at home with seven straight losses, that wasn't the case on Friday thanks to Angel Torres. The Sunrise Mountain Miners walked away with a 3-1 win over the Spring Valley Grizzlies for which the team can thank Torres, who had four digs and two aces. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in assists (33).

The final score came out to 25-14, 25-8, 19-25, 25-16.

Sunrise Mountain's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Spring Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sunrise Mountain will head out to face off against Southeast Career Tech at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give Sunrise Mountain their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season. As for Spring Valley, they will venture away from home to square off against Liberty at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
