Baseball Recap: Ellenville Blue Devils vs. Webutuck Warriors
Ellenville had lost seven straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 0-4 to make it eight. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Webutuck Warriors. The Blue Devils were not able to make up for their defeat to the Warriors from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.
Cody Randazzo made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
As for Webutuck, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games.
On Webutuck's side, Eric Golden was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Golden a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jayden Avery, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one double.
Looking ahead, Ellenville will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Livingston Manor at 4:15 p.m. As for Webutuck, they will head out to challenge Highland at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
