Ashley and New Hanover are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Screaming Eagle will venture away from home to face off against the Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Ashley 3, New Hanover 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Ashley is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of North Carolina's top teams: Grimsley, who was ranked 25th at the time (Ashley was ranked sixth). The Screaming Eagle fell just short of the Whirlies by a score of 6-4 on Wednesday. The Screaming Eagle have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when New Hanover challenged Randleman on Wednesday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 4-3.

New Hanover has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-7 record this season. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Ashley, their loss dropped their record down to 16-4.

Ashley came out on top in a nail-biter against New Hanover in their previous matchup back in March, sneaking past 5-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Screaming Eagle since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
