Basketball Recap: Worthington Christian Warriors vs. Bexley Lions

The Worthington Christian Warriors entered their tilt with the Bexley Lions with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Worthington Christian simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat the Lions 72-36 on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Worthington Christian has managed all season.

Worthington Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Samuel Johnson led the charge by dropping a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. Johnson has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 17 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Woloshan, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.

Worthington Christian's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.7 points per game. As for Bexley, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Worthington Christian will take on the Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Whitehall-Yearling will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 507th, while the Warriors are ranked 140th). As for Bexley, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Jaguars at 6:00 p.m.
