Baseball Game Preview: Wilsonville Wildcats vs. Aloha Warriors

The Wilsonville Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Aloha Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wilsonville will come into the match with an undefeated record on the line.

Wilsonville barely beat Putnam the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Kingsmen with a sharp 7-1 win on Tuesday. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 contests by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Aloha ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They walked away with an 8-4 victory over West Salem.

Achillies Garcia made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in nine consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Aj Rodriquez was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Nakamura, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Wilsonville's win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-0. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Aloha, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.
