Volleyball Recap: Howell Central's Undefeated Season over After Eight Games

Howell Central was the 2-1 winner over De Smet Jesuit when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Howell Central fell just short of De Smet Jesuit by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. The match marked Howell Central's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Howell Central sadly wound up on the wrong side. The final score came out to 25-17, 23-25, 15-12.

Jason Cambell paced Howell Central's offense, picking up 14 kills. Cambell got some help from Chase Williams and his 18 assists.

Having lost for the first time this season, Howell Central fell to 7-1. As for De Smet Jesuit, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Howell Central will face off against Fort Zumwalt West at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for De Smet Jesuit, they will venture away from home to face off against Mehlville at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
