Softball Recap: Coronado Islanders vs. San Diego Cavers
Coronado won the last time they faced San Diego and things went their way on Friday too. The Islanders came out on top against the Cavers by a score of 9-5. With that win, the Islanders brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Ali Pecus was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over 4.1 innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Cali Smith was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Sammy Aldworth, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

As for San Diego, they will venture away from home to square off against Hilltop at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
