Basketball Recap: Hawkinsville's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Hawkinsville extended their postseason success on Saturday against Chattahoochee County. They walked away with a 65-56 victory over the Chattahoochee County Panthers. Winning may never get old, but the Red Devils sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

It was another big night for Bryson Singletary, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten boards. His morning made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Nieem Blair, who posted 15 points and five steals.

Hawkinsville was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chattahoochee County only eight assists.

Champ Simpson and Chrisitan Brown certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Simpson went 7-for-13 on his way to 19 points and six rebounds, while Brown put up nine points in addition to four steals and three blocks. The dominant performance also gave Brown a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (67%). Gavin Patterson was another key player, putting up seven points.

Hawkinsville's win bumped their record up to 17-11. As for Chattahoochee County, their loss dropped their record down to 20-10.

Hawkinsville has already played their next matchup, a 46-37 defeat against Warren County on the 26th. Chattahoochee County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
