Football Game Preview: Springlake-Earth Wolverines vs. Nazareth Swifts

The Springlake-Earth Wolverines will square off against the Nazareth Swifts at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Friday, Springlake-Earth made easy work of Hart and carried off a 52-27 victory. The Wolverines haven't had any issues with the Longhorns recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Froylan Agundiz had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 179 yards and one touchdown while picking up 10.5 yards per carry, and also throwing for 150 yards and four TDs while completing 72.7% of his passes. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in each of the last six games he's played. Kaylob Frietze was Agundiz's top target, picking up 70 receiving yards and three scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Springlake-Earth was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 248 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Springlake-Earth didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Agundiz and Frietze.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Nazareth, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They blew past Kress, posting a 58-8 victory. That 50 point margin sets a new team best for the Swifts this season.

Springlake-Earth picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 3-4. As for Nazareth, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Springlake-Earth took their victory against Nazareth in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 48-22 score. Do the Wolverines have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Swifts turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
