Recap: Erie Red Devils vs. Cherryvale Chargers
The Erie Red Devils lost against the Cherryvale Chargers back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The New Year welcomed Erie with a 72-35 whooping from Cherryvale. Erie has struggled against Cherryvale recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Erie still got an impressive performance from Alexandra Pasquarelli, who scored 24 points. The contest was Pasquarelli's seventh in a row with at least ten points.
Erie's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Cherryvale, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Erie will take on Caney Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Caney Valley presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Erie in Kansas (Caney Valley is ranked 126th, while Erie is ranked 264th). As for Cherryvale, they will head out on the road to face off against Neodesha on Friday. Neodesha will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
