Satellite suffers third straight loss on the road

Recap: Satellite Scorpions vs. Edgewood Red Wolves

The Satellite Scorpions were the 36-31 winner over the Edgewood Red Wolves when they last played one another back in November of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Satellite took a 44-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Edgewood on Tuesday. Satellite has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Satellite still got an impressive performance from Sydney Logsdon, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. That was a full 38.2% of Satellite's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Leigh Hertel was another key contributor, scoring four points along with two steals.

Edgewood's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sophia Calero, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Shelby Preble, who scored nine points along with three steals.

Satellite dropped their record down to 5-11 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Edgewood, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Satellite won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Titusville at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th. As for Edgewood, they will head out on the road to challenge Cocoa Beach at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cocoa Beach is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
