Basketball Recap: Rosehill Christian Comes Up Short

After soaring to 62 points the game before, Rosehill Christian was a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They were dealt a 73-25 defeat at the hands of the Coram Deo Academy Lions. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1052nd, while the Lions are ranked 229th).

Coram Deo Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Selah Johnson led the charge by going 6 for 11 from beyond the arc on her way to 24 points and three steals. Johnson's morning made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kate Schmitz, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.

Rosehill Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Coram Deo Academy, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 17-2.

Rosehill Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 24-20 win against Meyer on the 27th. As for Coram Deo Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 75-28 victory against Veritas Academy on the 27th.
