Evangel Christian had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past Hope Christian Academy 8-2 on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Lightning sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row dating back to last season.
ZAC GROSSMANN was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over four innings pitched. GROSSMANN was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on AIDAN CRANFORD, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple. WILL WELCH was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
