Basketball Recap: Marlboro Academy Takes a Loss

If Marlboro Academy was riding high fresh off their 61-41 takedown of Christ the Cornerstone Academy last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Dragons lost 67-45 to the Florence Christian Eagles on Tuesday. The Dragons have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Taylor Greene was a one-man wrecking crew For Florence Christian. as he went 7-for-9 from beyond the arc en route to 42 points along with six assists and six boards. Those 42 points gave Greene a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Riley Minton, who shot 45% from the field to rack up 10 points.

Marlboro Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Florence Christian, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Marlboro Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 50-36 win against Christ the Cornerstone Academy on the 4th. As for Florence Christian, they will head out to take on Orangeburg Prep at 5:30 p.m. on the 12th.
