Softball Recap: Desert Christian Eagles vs. Benson Bobcats
Desert Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 12-8 to the Benson Bobcats. The Eagles lost against the Bobcats in their previous head to head back in April of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 30-0 score last time.
Aimee Lloyd made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That double was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cali Smith, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Desert Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Desert Christian will square off against San Miguel at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Desert Christian has given up an average of 12.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Benson, they will be playing at home against Bisbee at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
