Baseball Recap: Ankeny Comes Up Short

Ankeny was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sioux City East Black Raiders. The Hawks were not able to make up for their loss to the Black Raiders from their previous meeting back in June of 2025.

Ankeny's defeat dropped their record down to 6-18. As for Sioux City East, their win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 26-1.

Ankeny wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 13-3 loss against Lewis Central on the 20th. As for Sioux City East, they are taking a road trip to square off against Sergeant Bluff-Luton at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
