Basketball Game Preview: Burlington Cougars vs. Deer Trail Eagles

Burlington is a perfect 9-0 against Deer Trail since January of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Burlington Cougars will host the Deer Trail Eagles at 4:00 p.m.

Deer Trail is facing Burlington at the wrong time: Burlington suffered their first home loss of the season on Saturday and they're likely out for redemption. They received a blow as they fell 67-51 to Sedgwick County.

Despite the defeat, Burlington got top-tier performance from Kiyarra Williams, who dropped a double-double with 27 points and ten boards. Williams has been hot for a while, having also posted three or more steals the last ten times she's played. Lynzee Neal was another key player, going 5-for-11 en route to 10 points.

Fans were treated to a Battle of the Eagles on Tuesday. Deer Trail walked away with a 39-31 victory over Pikes Peak Christian.

Burlington's loss dropped their record down to 14-3. As for Deer Trail, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-13.
