Baseball Recap: Odyssey Institute Takes a Loss

Odyssey Institute came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 18-1 to the Northwest Christian Crusaders. The Minotaur haven't had much luck with the Crusaders recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Odyssey Institute saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nick DePaz, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run.

Odyssey Institute's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10-1. As for Northwest Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 17 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.

Odyssey Institute will head out on the road to challenge Parker at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Northwest Christian, they will face off against San Tan Foothills at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. The Sabercats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.48 runs per game on average), something the Crusaders will no doubt try to take advantage of.
