The Portola Tigers will take on the Loyalton Grizzlies at 3:30  p.m.  on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their  games after big wins in their previous games.
15 must be Portola's lucky number: they beat Williams with that score not once but twice  on Friday. The Tigers didn't even let the Yellowjackets on the board, marking the Tigers' second-straight  15-0 shutout. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Yellowjackets recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive  win against them.

 Emery Powell was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with five  RBI, one  triple,  and one  run. He is becoming a predictor of Portola's success: when he posts  at  least three  RBI the team is 2-1 (and 5-11 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of  Ricky Richardson, who  went 2-for-3 with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  triple.
 Portola  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .542. The last time their  OBP was this high was  back in March.
Meanwhile,  after only one  run in their last  contest, Loyalton made sure to put some  runs up on the board against Plumas Charter  on Friday. The Grizzlies blew past the Warriors 10-3. Considering the Grizzlies have won eight matchups by more than six  runs this season, Friday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Thor Corcoran made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he  struck out ten batters over  five innings while giving up just one earned  (and two unearned) runs off   one  hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than two  hits in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with four  RBI, one  run,  and one  double. That's the most  hits  he has posted since back in March.
 In other batting news, Loyalton let  Gus Petterson and  Chance Edwards run wild. Petterson  went 1-for-2 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI, while  Edwards  went 1-for-2 with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  RBI. Those  two  stolen bases gave  Edwards a new career-high.  Ryland Martinetti was another key player,  going 1-for-3 with two  stolen bases, one  run,  and one  RBI.
 Loyalton is  on a roll lately: they've  won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record  this season. The  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Portola, their win bumped their record up to 7-12.
