Basketball Recap: Hornell Find Success

Hornell's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They managed a 49-43 win over the Elmira Express. For the Red Raiders, this counts as revenge for the 50-29 victory the Express walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2016.

Despite the defeat, Elmira had strong showings from Addison Taft, who went 5-for-12 en route to 15 points and four steals, and Mariah Matias, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 15 boards. Matias is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.

Hornell's win bumped their record up to 15-3. As for Elmira, their loss dropped their record down to 13-5.

Hornell has already played their next game, a 70-27 victory against Livonia on the 18th. Elmira does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
