Oldham County is a perfect 4-0 against Carroll County since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Colonels will take on the Panthers at 12:00 p.m. Oldham County is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
On Friday, Oldham County didn't have quite enough to beat Spencer County and fell 3-2.
Logan Slechter was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. What's more, he gave up only three walks, the fewest he's had since back in March.

On the hitting side, Oldham County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Martin, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Martin has become a key player for the Colonels: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least one home run, but 5-10-1 otherwise.
Meanwhile, Carroll County got themselves on the board against Trimble County on Thursday, but Trimble County never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Raiders with a sharp 15-0 victory. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by ten runs or more this season.
Not much got past Mason Ogden, who gave up just four hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Trimble County off the board.
At the plate, Luke Taylor was a standout: he went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Preston Snow, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs.
Carroll County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
The win made it two in a row for Carroll County and bumps their season record up to 6-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.5 runs over those games. As for Oldham County, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11-1.
Oldham County took their win against Carroll County in their previous matchup back in May of 2022 by a conclusive 9-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Colonels since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
