St. Bernard is 0-8 against St. Monica since November of 2018 but things could change on Friday. The St. Bernard Vikings will head out on the road to take on the St. Monica Mariners at 3:15 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
St. Bernard is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They skirted past Bosco Tech 3-2. The win was some much needed relief for the Vikings as it spelled an end to their eight-game losing streak.
Meanwhile, St. Monica had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.8 goals) and they went ahead and made it seven on Wednesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Cardinals a 4-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Mariners, who have now won seven matches by three goals or more so far this season.
They hit Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Matthew Martinez, Alex Jurado, Giovannie Sotomayor, and Nicholas Barillas.
