            Football Recap: Edinburg Bobcats vs. Economedes Jaguars        
        
		
        
        
            After flying high against La Joya  last Friday, Edinburg came back down to earth. The Bobcats fell  27-14 to the Economedes Jaguars on Friday. Despite 109 more yards than the Jaguars, the Bobcats couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
 Despite the loss, Edinburg still got an impressive performance from   Aidden Sanchez, who threw for 234 yards and one  TD while completing 71.4% of his passes, and also rushed for 33 yards.
  Johan Nunez continued  his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Economedes, rushing for 102 yards and three  scores on only 14 carries. Nunez's rushing production has been exceptional  as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 102  rushing yards.
Edinburg's  loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-3. As for Economedes, the  win keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming  contests. Edinburg will head out to  face off against Weslaco  at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday. The Bobcats will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least 31  points  in their last three games. As for Economedes, they will head out on the road to  square off against  La Joya  at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The Jaguars will be up against the Coyotes' rather soft defense (which has allowed 35.38  points per  matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
