Softball Game Preview: Portsmouth West Senators vs. South Webster Jeeps

For the second straight game, Portsmouth West will face off against South Webster. The Senators will welcome the Jeeps at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Portsmouth West is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

Portsmouth West fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against South Webster on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Jeeps by a score of 9-8.

Ariane Jordan spent all 7.1 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered seven earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, Kyleigh McCleese led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. She also put up a triple, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was M Bradford, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

South Webster now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Portsmouth West, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11.
