Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Mosinee

Mosinee waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 9-5 victory over the Marshfield Tigers. That's more bragging rights for the Indians, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Easton Brooks looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Parker Filipiak was excellent, going 3-for-4 with three runs and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Brady Lokken also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Mosinee hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in seven consecutive games.

Mosinee's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Marshfield, they dropped their record down to 3-7 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Mosinee wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 12-8 victory against Lakeland on the 29th. Marshfield has also already played their next match (against Merrill), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
