Basketball Recap: Craigmont Falls to St. George's in First Game of Season

Craigmont unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They had to suffer through an 83-45 loss at the hands of the St. George's Gryphons. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 18 in a row.

St. George's win on Thursday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kamyrn Green, who made all 5 shots he took racking up 10 points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jesse Brown, who shot 67% from the field to rack up 12 points and seven boards.

St. George's has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Craigmont will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Booker T. Washington at 7:30 p.m. on December 9. As for St. George's, they will venture away from home to challenge Olive Branch at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
