Baseball Recap: New London Takes a Loss

While it was New London who put the first runs on the board on Thursday, it was Crestview who put up more. The Wildcats fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 6-5. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their loss to the Cougars from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Oliver Harrison put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. Harrison was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, Brody Sword made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple. He has become a key player for New London: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 0-7 otherwise. Joe Gum was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one stolen base.

This is the second loss in a row for New London and nudges their season record down to 3-8. As for Crestview, their record is now 4-9.

Coming up, New London will host Western Reserve at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Crestview, they have already played their next matchup, an 8-7 defeat against Northmor on the 26th.
