Preview: Linden Patriots vs. Southern Choctaw Indians
The Linden Patriots will head out on the road to face off against the Southern Choctaw Indians at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Linden couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of Sweet Water by a score of 1-0 last Monday.
Meanwhile, Southern Choctaw had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They had just enough and edged Clarke County out 7-6. The win was just what Southern Choctaw needed coming off of an 8-1 defeat in their prior game.
Payton Williamson and Kaidence Bonner did most of the damage at the plate: Williamson went 2-for-2 with a home run, while Bonner went 1-for-3 with a home run, two runs, and two RBI. Kaylin Russell was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
