Baseball Recap: Danbury Triumphs

Danbury barely beat Stamford the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Hatters never let the Black Knights get on the board and left with a 6-0 win on Wednesday. The Hatters haven't had any issues with the Black Knights recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Giani Chieffalo, who went 2-for-3 with two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jacob Encarnacion, who went 1-for-2 with two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Danbury kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Stamford only managed one hit.

Danbury's win bumped their record up to 3-10. As for Stamford, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-5.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Danbury is set to take on their familiar foe Norwalk at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Stamford will face off against rival New Canaan at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
