            Softball Recap: Glenmora Wildcats vs. Fairview Panthers        
        
		
        
        
            It was a proper cat-fight when  Glenmora faced off against Fairview on Saturday. Glenmora fell just short of Fairview by a score of  5-3. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in April of 2019.
 Lillian Ryals spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned  (and four unearned) runs on four hits. She has been consistent  for a while: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in nine consecutive appearances.
 At the plate,  Avery Fuller made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  went 1-for-3 with one  home run.  Kaitlyn Verret also deserves some recognition as  she  snagged her first  stolen base of the season.
Glenmora's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Fairview, they now  have a winning record of 3-2.
 Looking ahead, Glenmora will face off against Hornbeck at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday. As for Fairview, they will head out on the road to  face off against  Anacoco  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Anacoco will roll in looking for their  eighth straight  win, something Fairview surely won't give up without a fight.
