Basketball Recap: Windsor Academy Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Windsor Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 61-44 victory over the First Presbyterian Day Vikings on Thursday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 56-47 back in December of 2024.

Windsor Academy had a senior duo take command as Gavin Snow dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards and Landen Locke dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Chris Lamar was another key player, putting up 11 points and six rebounds.

Windsor Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in three consecutive matchups.

Despite the loss, First Presbyterian Day still got an impressive performance from Jones Handberry, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 14 boards. Another player making a difference was Peyton Howard, who posted four points.

Windsor Academy's win bumped their record up to 6-11. As for First Presbyterian Day, they dropped their record down to 3-12 with the loss, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.
