Baseball Game Preview: Liberty Charter Lions vs. Coastal Academy Stingrays

The Liberty Charter Lions will venture away from home to challenge the Coastal Academy Stingrays at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Liberty Charter made up a huge gap compared to their last game against El Cajon Valley, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Liberty Charter put the hurt on El Cajon Valley with a sharp 26-1 victory on Thursday.

Jacob Jones was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). Jones was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Liberty Charter got a massive performance out of Andruw Godinez, who scored five runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave Godinez a new career-high in RBI (four). Logan Hays was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in all six of his plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Coastal Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Army-Navy on Friday, taking the game 6-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Stingrays.

The victory got Liberty Charter back to even at 1-1. As for Coastal Academy, their record is now 2-0.

Liberty Charter took their win against Coastal Academy in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 15-4. Does Liberty Charter have another victory up their sleeve, or will Coastal Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
