Soccer Game Preview: McKenzie vs. Westview

The McKenzie Rebels will square off against the Westview Chargers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with McKenzie sitting on five straight victories and Westview on three.

McKenzie had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the four-goal drubbing they dealt Hickman County on Tuesday. The Rebels put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 6-2 win.

McKenzie's offense was hitting Hickman County from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Eli Vinson led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, Westview's game on Tuesday was all tied up 2-2 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. Everything went their way against Union City as they made off with a 5-2 victory. Considering Westview have won six matches by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Westview's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 31 goals over those six games. As for McKenzie, their win bumped their record up to 5-1-2.
