Baseball Recap: Santo Takes a Loss

Santo managed to slip by Dublin the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Santo Wildcats came up short against the Dublin Lions on Friday, falling 11-4. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2020.

Santo saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cayden Self, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2. Hunter Branham was another, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Even though they lost, Santo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Santo has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-3-1 record this season. The victory made it two in a row for Dublin and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Coming up, Santo will head out on the road to face off against Meridian at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Dublin, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 12-2 win against Gorman on the 7th.
